ZTA Recognized for Blood Drive Donation

The Arkansas Tech University Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha was recognized by the Student Government Association (SGA) and Volunteer Action Council (VAC) for their participation in the blood drive that was part of Greek Week.  Members of the sorority donated 26 units of blood during the two-day drive.

For their efforts, Zeta Tau Alpha was presented a trophy by VAC Chair Savanna Knight (left) during Wednesday’s Student Government Association weekly meeting.

According to the American Red Cross website, one unit of blood can save up to three lives.

Knight says she appreciates everyone who took time to donated blood during the drive.  She added, “I really appreciate all the students, faculty and staff who participated in this blood drive.  Someone needs blood every two seconds, and I’m honored that Arkansas Tech helped to provide blood for those who might need it.”

The Volunteer Action Council and Student Government Association host several blood drives each year.
