ZTA Hosts "Believe in Pink" Week

Zeta Tau Alpha is hosting “Believe in Pink” Week this week on the Arkansas Tech campus in honor of breast cancer awareness month.

Breast cancer awareness and education is the national philanthropy of Zeta Tau Alpha. The ladies of ZTA invite students, faculty and staff to participate in their effort to raise awareness and educate.

Tuesday, everyone can “Kiss Away Cancer” with ZTA. Kisses on the cheek and Hershey’s kisses will be sold for one dollar each. The kissing booth will be located in front of the Baswell Techionery from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation.

On Wednesday, ZTA will also be sponsoring a bake sale at the Hindsman Bell Tower.

Thursday, come hungry to the Baswell Techionery at 5:30 p.m. if you are interested in participating in a yogurt eating contest. The contest will be hosted in association with Susan G. Komen and Yoplait’s Lids to Save Lives program. The winner will receive a prize and the yogurt lids will benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. There is no cost to enter the contest.

Friday, ZTA encourages everyone to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness for “Campus Pink Out Day: Dare to Wear Pink.”

The 16th Annual Zeta Tau Alpha Race for a Cure will be on campus Saturday. The race begins at 9 a.m. and costs $15 for students and $20 for non-students. Runners are invited to participate wearing their Halloween costume, as the theme this year is “Pink-O-Ween.”

Additionally, the ladies of ZTA at Arkansas Tech are hosting a “Pink Out” football game Saturday. There will be a balloon release in honor of those who have had breast cancer.
