Young to Talk About Women in STEM Thursday

Arkansas Tech University faculty member Dr. Jessica Young will present a lecture entitled “Breaking Barriers in STEM” in Corley Hall room 101 at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 6.

Young, ATU associate professor of physics, has been a member of the Arkansas Tech faculty since 2013. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Henderson State University and Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the University of Arkansas.

During her lecture, Young will share her perspectives on navigating a male-dominated industry and talk about her research in laser physics and beam shaping. She will also lead a conversation about bridging the gap between physics and engineering.
