Recipients of the Creative Writing Scholarship Contest were announced this morning at the Time-out for Tech opening ceremony.
High school seniors are eligible to apply for the scholarship each January by submitted their original pieces of writing.
Submissions generally include a poem, group of poems, short story or a piece of dramatic writing.
The scholarships may be used to pursue any degree program at Arkansas Tech University, including Tech’s Bachelor of Fine Arts in creative writing.
Six scholarship awards worth as much as $1500 were presented to the following winners of the 2012 Creative Writing Scholarship Contest:
1st place-Hollie Hopson
2nd place-Ashley Raines
3rd place-Ethan Kinder
4th place-Samantha Lewis
5th place-Jonathon Ross
6th place- Amber Tyler
