Wonder Boys Win NCAA Tourney Opener

Taylor struck out seven Vikings. Augustana used a single and two walks to load the bases with one out in the top of the ninth. The Vikings plated one run on a sacrifice fly by Brian Duxbury, but Tech closer Randy Vallejo got pinch-hitter T.J. Davis to fly out to right field to end the game. Sage Boehner drove in the third and final run of the inning on a fielder's choice. It was Boehner's second RBI of the night. He also drove in a run on a ground out in the third inning. Augustana starting pitcher Kye Winter (8-2) allowed four runs, three of which were earned, on four hits over six and one-third innings.
