Arkansas Tech University has ventured to Joplin, Mo., to face Missouri Southern State University in men’s basketball on 19 occasions in a series that dates back to 1971.
Only two of those occasions have resulted in a Wonder Boys’ victory.
Arkansas Tech will attempt to defeat the Lions in Joplin for the first time since 2004 when the two sides meet on Monday, Dec. 19.

About the Wonder Boys: Arkansas Tech remained undefeated at home this season with a 78-74 win over William Woods University on Wednesday. Two Tech guards are ranked among the NCAA Division II national statistical leaders. Senior Justin Graham ranks No. 8 nationally in assists per game (6.7 per game), while sophomore Freddy Lee ranks No. 2 in NCAA Division II in assist-to-turnover ratio (8-to-1). The Wonder Boys are averaging 12.3 made 3-point field goals per game, second-most in the nation.
About the Lions: Missouri Southern has won four consecutive games and it is 4-0 at home this season. The Lions are 34-10 at the Leggett and Platt Athletic Center since the beginning of the 2013-14 season. MSSU junior guard CJ Carr is the reigning Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association co-athlete of the week. For the season, he ranks 16th in the nation in scoring (22.6 points per game) and ninth in NCAA Division II in steals (3.0 per game).
