Austin Gean led Arkansas Tech University to a sixth-place finish among 16 men’s golf teams at the 2019 St. Edward’s University Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Onion Creek Club in Austin, Texas.
Gean fired rounds of 78-64-68 for an even-par total of 210 and sole possession of sixth place in the individual standings.
His performance helped the Wonder Boys post team scores of 300-286-277 for a 54-hole total of 863. The team title was shared between Midwestern State University and Oklahoma Christian University, which finished with matching totals of 849.
Shawn Tsai (T-27th, 70-72-75-217), Francois Jacobs (T-40th, 76-74-71-221), Kellen Gray (T-45th, 76-76-70-222) and Andre Jacobs (T-47th, 79-76-68-223) also represented Arkansas Tech in Austin.
The Wonder Boys will compete in the Argonaut Invitational April 1-2 in Pensacola, Fla.
