Wonder Boys Set to Face Regional Host

Senior guard Mike Balogun, an All-GAC second team selection during the regular season, scored 33 points in the title contest and was named GAC Tournament most valuable player. The Wonder Boys are 5-6 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. Their best-ever showing in the event came in 2012, when they reached the NCAA Division II South Central regional final. The current string of seven consecutive national tournament berths matches the longest streak of national tournament appearances in Arkansas Tech men’s basketball history. Sam Hindsman coached the Wonder Boys to seven straight NAIA National Tournament berths from 1950-56. About the Vikings: Augustana is hosting a men’s basketball NCAA Division II Tournament regional for the first time. The Vikings are ranked No. 2 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches NCAA Division II top 25 poll. With 30 wins, Augustana has established a new school record for men’s basketball victories in a season. The Vikings are 2014-15 regular season and 2015 postseason champions of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
