Wonder Boys Ranked No. 21 in Nation

Arkansas Tech fell four spots to No. 21 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches NCAA Division II men’s basketball top 25 poll released on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

The Wonder Boys (21-5) were 2-1 during the final week of the regular season. They defeated Harding 84-79 on Monday, Feb. 20, and Southern Arkansas 74-66 on Saturday, Feb. 25. In between, Arkansas Tech suffered an 80-76 loss at Ouachita Baptist on Thursday, Feb. 23.

Despite their setback in Arkadelphia, the Wonder Boys still clinched the inaugural Great American Conference men’s basketball championship outright. It is the 19th regular season conference title in Arkansas Tech men’s basketball history.

With their ranking this week, the Wonder Boys have been included in 34 of the last 44 NABC NCAA Division II top 25 men’s basketball polls.

Arkansas Tech’s men will make their GAC Tournament debut by facing Southern Arkansas at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, at Bruin Fieldhouse in Bartlesville, Okla.
