Arkansas Tech will enter the NCAA Division II Tournament ranked 14th in the National Association of Basketball Coaches NCAA Division II top 25 men’s basketball poll.
The Wonder Boys (24-5) fell one spot after going 2-1 at the Gulf South Conference Tournament last weekend. Arkansas Tech defeated North Alabama and Valdosta State before dropping an 80-61 decision to Harding in the GSC Tournament championship game.
Regular season champions of the GSC West Division two years running, the Wonder Boys have been included in 25 of the 30 NABC NCAA Division II top 25 polls over the past two seasons.
Arkansas Tech will face Benedict College in the first round of the NCAA Division II South Regional at Spragins Hall in Huntsville, Ala., on Saturday, March 12. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
Radio station KWKK 100.9 FM will broadcast the game in the Arkansas River Valley.
