Wonder Boys Play at Home Tonight

Arkansas Tech University will host Ouachita Baptist University for a non-conference baseball game at Tech Field in Russellville tonight (Tuesday, April 17).

The Wonder Boys (21-21) and the Tigers (22-20) are scheduled for a 6 p.m. first pitch. Admission will be free.

Arkansas Tech has won five consecutive games, the longest active winning streak among Great American Conference members.

Ouachita Baptist saw a three-game winning streak come to an end with a 5-4 loss at East Central University on Sunday.

The Tigers took 2-of-3 games from the Wonder Boys in a three-game GAC series at Rab Rodgers Field in Arkadelphia March 9-10.

OBU swept a doubleheader 10-8 and 5-4 during day one of the series. Arkansas Tech bounced back to win game three 9-3.

Tonight’s contest will not count in the league standings. It is theĀ fourth of five non-conference games against GAC members that the Wonder Boys will play this season.

Tech lost to Arkansas-Monticello and split a pair of meetings with Southern Arkansas in non-conference games earlier this season. The Wonder Boys will host Harding for a non-league contest on Tuesday, April 24.

Tonight marks the beginning of the final homestand of the 2012 Arkansas Tech baseball season.

The Wonder Boys will host East Central for a three-game GAC series this weekend. Tech and ECU will play a single game at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 20, and a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 21. All three of those games can be heard on KCAB 980 AM or by clicking here.

The Tech-Harding game next Tuesday will mark the Wonder Boys’ final home appearance of the season. That contest is set for a 6 p.m. start.
