About the Gorillas: Pittsburg State suffered losses to Augustana College (86-69) and Northern State University (75-68) in the season-opening Sanford Pentagon Basketball Showcase on Friday and Saturday. The Gorillas were 8-18 overall and 4-15 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association in 2013-14. It was their first sub-.500 overall record since the 2009-10 season.
