Wonder Boys Improve to 10-0

Arkansas Tech dominated the turnover margin, dominated the rebounding margin and walked out of Flowers Hall with a men's basketball win for just the second time ever on Saturday.

The nationally fifth-ranked Wonder Boys (10-0) defeated North Alabama 89-76 behind a plus-10 turnover margin and a plus-10 rebound margin.

Tech led 46-41 at halftime. A 7-0 spurt allowed the Wonder Boys to open a 62-50 spread with 12:36 to play.

UNA got to within 62-56 with 1:55 left, but a 6-0 Tech run rebuilt the lead to 12 points.

The Wonder Boys maintained at least a seven-point edge the rest of the way as they continued their best start to a men's basketball season in 57 years.

Renard Allen scored a team-high 19 points for Tech. Jeremy Dunbar (16 points), Marcus Pillow (14 points) and Brandon Friedel (12 points) also reached double figures in scoring for the Wonder Boys.

Daviel Clements and Jared Strode scored 20 points apiece to lead North Alabama (5-5).

The Wonder Boys will visit the University of Alabama-Huntsville for a 7:30 p.m. game on Monday. Russellville radio station KWKK 100.9 FM will have the broadcast, which will also be streamed over the Internet at www.athletics.atu.edu.
