Wonder Boys Improve to 10-0

Arkansas Tech dominated the turnover margin, dominated the rebounding margin and walked out of Flowers Hall with a men’s basketball win for just the second time ever on Saturday.

The nationally fifth-ranked Wonder Boys (10-0) defeated North Alabama 89-76 behind a plus-10 turnover margin and a plus-10 rebound margin.

Tech led 46-41 at halftime. A 7-0 spurt allowed the Wonder Boys to open a 62-50 spread with 12:36 to play.

UNA got to within 62-56 with 1:55 left, but a 6-0 Tech run rebuilt the lead to 12 points.

The Wonder Boys maintained at least a seven-point edge the rest of the way as they continued their best start to a men’s basketball season in 57 years.

Renard Allen scored a team-high 19 points for Tech. Jeremy Dunbar (16 points), Marcus Pillow (14 points) and Brandon Friedel (12 points) also reached double figures in scoring for the Wonder Boys.
