Arkansas Tech University won once and lost twice during a non-conference weekend baseball trip to Arkadelphia.
The Wonder Boys (4-5) dropped 7-2 and 11-3 decisions to Northwest Missouri State University before bouncing back with a 14-2 win over Missouri Western State University.
All three neutral-site games were played at Clyde Berry Field on the campus of Henderson State University.
Arkansas Tech will host Delta State University for a 2 p.m. non-conference game at Tech Field in Russellville on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Admission will be free.
Game One: Northwest Missouri State 7, Arkansas Tech 2
Jay Hrdlicka went 2-for-3 with four runs batted in to lead the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats to a 7-2 victory over Arkansas Tech on Friday night.
Joseph Hietpas (2-0) was the winning pitcher. He limited the Wonder Boys to two runs on four hits over six and one-third innings. Nikko Pablo and Carson Smith combined to provide the Bearcats with two and two-thirds innings of scoreless relief.
Arkansas Tech starting pitcher Isaac Hale (0-2) was charged with five runs on three hits over four innings.
Blake King and Dylan McDearmon drove in one run apiece for the Wonder Boys.
Game Two: Northwest Missouri State 11, Arkansas Tech 3
A seven-run rally in the top of the seventh inning propelled Northwest Missouri State to an 11-3 win over Arkansas Tech on Saturday.
The Wonder Boys led 3-2 after six innings, but the first six Bearcats to come to the plate in the top of the seventh all reached base. Northwest Missouri had five base hits and took advantage of three hit batsmen and one Arkansas Tech error during the frame.
Austin Battaglia (1-1) pitched one and two-thirds scoreless innings of relief for the Bearcats.
Tech starter Trent Armstrong (0-2) allowed six runs on six hits in six-plus innings.
Game Three: Arkansas Tech 14, Missouri Western 2
Arkansas Tech University rapped out 11 base hits and took advantage of five Missouri Western errors in a 14-2 victory over the Golden Griffons on Saturday.
Kyle Love, Kaleb Warden, Mark Vaughn and Parker O’Dell had two hits apiece for the Wonder Boys, while McDearmon had four RBIs.
Tech starting pitcher Zach Skelton (1-0) held Missouri Western to two runs on three hits. He struck out eight in five and two-thirds innings of work. Chris McKeehan came out of the Wonder Boys’ bullpen to record the final four outs.
MWSU starter Alex Clavet (1-1) took the loss. He surrendered three runs, one of which was earned, over three and one-third innings.
