Wonder Boys Finish 19th in Oklahoma

Scoring conditions were good for the Northeastern State University Golf Classic in Muskogee, Okla., this week, but the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys could not keep pace with the low numbers.

Tech shot 298-306 for a 604 total and a 19th-place finish among a 23-team field at Muskogee Country Club.

Central Oklahoma (275-289-564) rode an outstanding opening round to a seven-stroke victory over runner-up Central Missouri (285-286-571).

Parker Hale was the low man for the Wonder Boys in a second consecutive tournament to begin the 2010-11 season. Hale shot 72 on Monday and 75 on Tuesday. His 147 total was good for a share of 40th place.

Rowdy Garrett (T-64th, 74-76-150), Slade Hames (T-84th, 77-76-153), Colton Dillard (T-88th, 75-79-154) and Zack O’Rieley (T-100th, 78-79-157) also competed for Tech.

The Wonder Boys will next compete at the Indian Bayou Classic in Destin, Fla., Oct. 11-12.
