Three Harding University pitchers scattered nine Arkansas Tech University hits over nine innings and the Bisons collected a 6-1 non-conference baseball victory over the Wonder Boys at Tech Field in Russellville on Monday.
Reed Roberts (1-1) started and pitched the first six innings for Harding. He allowed one run on eight hits. Jacob Stripling provided the Bisons (10-10) with two scoreless innings of relief before Joshua Spears worked a 1-2-3 bottom of the ninth to secure the victory.
Josh Watkins and Connor Brady had two hits apiece for Arkansas Tech (9-12). Brady scored the Wonder Boys’ run on a Harding error in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Arkansas Tech starting pitcher Ethan Taylor (0-1) allowed two runs on six hits over four innings.
Zac Stewart and Davis Richardson notched three hits apiece for the Bisons, while Blake Coward drove in three runs.
The Wonder Boys will visit Oklahoma Baptist University for a three-game series in Shawnee, Okla., on Friday, March 11, and Saturday, March 12.
