Wonder Boys Earn Preseason National Rankings

The Wonder Boys return two starters from a team that was 26-6 overall, captured Great American Conference regular season and postseason championships and reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division II Tournament in 2011-12.

Basketball Times ranks Arkansas Tech No. 9 in its NCAA Division II preseason top 20 poll for 2012-13, while the National Association of Basketball Coaches NCAA Division II top 25 poll lists the Wonder Boys No. 19 in the country.

Doug Karleskint is beginning his third season as Arkansas Tech head men’s basketball coach. His career record is 51-12.

Tech will launch its 2012-13 basketball season with a Monday Madness event for fans at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5. Admission to Tucker Coliseum will be free.

The Wonder Boys will open their season on Thursday, Nov. 15, with a 7 p.m. non-conference game at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla.
