Wonder Boys Earn All-GAC Football Honors

Eight Arkansas Tech University student-athletes have earned All-Great American Conference football accolades for the 2016 season.

Junior punter Clayton Watson of Green Forest was elected to the All-GAC first team. He averaged 42.6 yards per punt and 11 of his 40 punts were downed inside the opponent’s 20-yard line this season.

Senior utility player Jabyes Cross of Riviera Beach, Fla., sophomore halfback Chris Eastburn of Pearcy, senior defensive lineman Demetris Ford of Magnolia and sophomore defensive back Cuá Rose of McGehee represented Arkansas Tech on the All-GAC second team.

Arkansas Tech’s All-GAC honorable mention selections were senior defensive lineman Bruce Livingston of Bradenton, Fla., junior place kicker Eric Perez of Green Forest and junior return specialist Braden Stringer of Blanchard, Okla.

Head coach Raymond Monica and the Wonder Boys completed the 2016 season with an overall record of 6-5, giving Arkansas Tech consecutive winning football seasons for the first time since it had three in a row from 2004-06.
