Wonder Boys Earn 12 All-GAC Awards

Arkansas Tech University football student-athletes collected 12 All-Great American Conference honors when the league announced its 2017 postseason football awards on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

Junior offensive lineman Trey Bradley of Conway, junior special teams performer Cornelius Dortch of Lucedale, Miss., junior fullback Chris Eastburn of Pearcy, junior linebacker KJ Reid of Texarkana, junior defensive back Cua’ Rose of McGehee and senior return specialist Braden Stringer of Blanchard, Okla., represent ATU on the 2017 All-GAC first team.

Stringer was selected All-GAC second team for his performance at running back. He was joined on the All-GAC second team by fellow Wonder Boys Ty Reasnor, senior quarterback from Cashion, Okla.; Clayton Watson, senior punter from Green Forest; and Eric Perez, senior place kicker from Green Forest.

A pair of Arkansas Tech wide receivers — junior Jackob Dean of Norman, Okla., and senior Tevin McKenzie of Mobile, Ala. — were named All-GAC honorable mention.

The Wonder Boys completed the 2017 regular season with an 8-3 overall record under fifth-year head coach Raymond Monica. It was the third consecutive winning season for Arkansas Tech football, the longest such streak for the program since it had three straight winning campaigns from 2004-06.
