Wonder Boys Wrap Up 2009-10 Golf Season

Arkansas Tech concluded its 2009-10 men’s golf season by posting a final-round team score of 312 on Wednesday at the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Super Regional at Wilson Country Club in Wilson, N.C.

The Wonder Boys finished the 54-hole event in 20th place with a cumulative team total of 916. Barry University (Fla.) won the tournament with a 54-hole score of 845.

Arkansas Tech’s top individual finisher was Jonathon Spikes, who finished in a tie for 78th place after returning scores of 78-70-78 for a 226 total.

Parker Hale (T-86th, 75-76-77-228), Ryan Hitt (T-100th, 76-79-77-232), Drew Richards (T-104th, 77-77-80-234) and Colton Dillard (107th, 77-76-83-236) also competed for the Wonder Boys in the event.

The tournament marked Arkansas Tech’s second consecutive appearance in NCAA Division II men’s golf regional competition. It was the seventh time that the Wonder Boys have qualified for NCAA postseason play in golf.

The 2009-10 Arkansas Tech men’s golf team won the Doyle Wallace Invitational hosted by Henderson State University, and the Wonder Boys finished in the top-5 of seven tournaments.
