Wonder Boys 13th in Preseason National Poll

Two-time defending Gulf South Conference champion Arkansas Tech is ranked 13th in the 2010-11 National Association of Basketball Coaches NCAA Division II men’s basketball preseason top 25 poll, which was released on Wednesday.

The Wonder Boys were 30-2 overall in 2009-10. Tech won its first GSC West Division regular season men’s basketball title, and the Wonder Boys went on to win the GSC Tournament championship for a second consecutive year.

Arkansas Tech finished the 2009-10 regular season ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division II. The Wonder Boys reached the second round of the NCAA Division II Tournament for a second consecutive year.

Tech returns three starters — senior All-GSC West Division guard Laithe Massey and senior forwards Jeremy Dunbar (photographed) and James Causey — from their 2010 GSC championship squad. A total of seven lettermen are back for the Wonder Boys.

Arkansas Tech will open its 2010-11 season by hosting Ozark Christian for a 7 p.m. game at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville on Monday, Nov. 15.
