Women's Golf Ends Fall on Winning Note

All six Arkansas Tech Golden Suns who competed finished in the top 10 of the individual standings and Tech posted a 22-stroke victory in the team standings at the UAM Fall Classic Oct. 11-12 at Hurricane Creek Golf and Country Club in Bryant.

The Golden Suns returned team scores of 344 and 336 for a 680 total. Christian Brothers (2nd, 702), Ouachita Baptist (3rd, 808), tournament host Arkansas-Monticello (4th, 857) and Fontbonne University (5th, 949) rounded out the team standings.

Arkansas Tech's Megan Kelly (84-84-168) and Elizabeth Sweetnam (86-82-168) finished in a tie for second place in the individual standings.

The individual title went to Amanda Martin of Christian Brothers. She posted rounds of 81 and 80.

Ana Morales (T-4th, 83-87-170), Kyla McIsaac (6th, 88-83-171), Alyssia Duvall (T-9th, 87-88-175) and Niki Possage (T-9th, 91-84-175) also represented the Golden Suns in the event.

Arkansas Tech's women's golf team will resume its 2010-11 schedule during the spring semester.
