Womack Named Arvest Central Arkansas CEO

Arkansas Tech University alumnus John Womack will become Arvest Bank chairman and chief executive officer for the Central Arkansas region on July 6.

Womack graduated from Arkansas Tech in 1974. He was involved in the banking industry in Fort Smith, Tulsa, Okla., and Lawton, Okla., before Arvest Bank brought him on board as president of its Fort Smith operations in 1999.

Womack has served his alma mater on the Arkansas Tech Foundation Board of Directors. He is a past chairman of the Arkansas Bankers Association and is president-elect of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.

Womack and his wife of 34 years, Becky, have two adult daughters.

According to a news release from Arvest, in his new position Womack will oversee twenty-eight banking locations with 430 employees and thirty-seven ATMs in twelve communities: Little Rock, North Little Rock, Maumelle, Jacksonville, Cabot, Benton, Bryant, Lonoke, Conway, Hot Springs and Morrilton.
