Applications are being accepted for Arkansas K-12 art teachers interested in participating in the 2021 Windgate Summer Art Launch for Arkansas Educators.

Hosted by the Arkansas Tech University Department of Art, the professional development program will begin with a virtual orientation on Sunday, June 13.

Workshops, including the in-person portion on the ATU campus in Russellville, are scheduled for the week of June 14-18.

The 2021 Windgate Summer Art Launch will also include an appearance by virtual guest speaker Dr. Kathy Brown from the University of North Texas and a virtual exhibition of the artworks created during the workshops.

Participants will earn 30 hours of professional development hours from the Arkansas Department of Education. Those who accept one of the 30 positions in the program are asked to commit to full participation.

Grant support from the Windgate Foundation allows ATU to offer the program free of charge. No on-campus housing will be available for participants in 2021.
