Wilson Comes Through for Wonder Boys

Marcus Wilson’s walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning gave Arkansas Tech University a 5-4 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Great American Conference baseball at Tech Field in Russellville on Friday night.

With one out and the bases empty, Wilson hit the first pitch he saw over the left field fence to extend the Wonder Boys’ winning streak to five games.

Quentin Bowling (3-0) pitched a 1-2-3 top of the ninth inning to earn the win on the mound. ATU starter Kyle Wilson received no decision after limiting the Savage Storm to one run on three hits while striking out nine over seven innings.

Arkansas Tech (23-13 overall, 18-4 GAC) and Southeastern Oklahoma State (9-20-1, 8-12) will play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 8. Radio station KARV 101.3 FM/610 AM and www.arkansastechsports.com will have live coverage.
