Arkansas Tech’s Jared Williamson was named Great American Conference men’s basketball player of the week on Tuesday, Jan. 31.
Williamson, a junior guard from Russellville, averaged 16.7 points per game while helping the Wonder Boys go 3-0 last week.
Arkansas Tech recorded wins over Harding, Ouachita Baptist and Southern Arkansas to move into a share of first place in the GAC standings.
Williamson was 10-of-22 from the field, 4-of-8 from 3-point range and 26-of-36 from the free throw line last week. He also averaged 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game during the week.
The Wonder Boys (14-4 overall, 6-2 GAC) will visit Arkansas-Monticello for a 7:30 p.m. GAC game on Thursday, Feb. 2, at Steelman Field House in Monticello.
Game one of the doubleheader will pit the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns (13-3, 5-3) against the UAM Cotton Blossoms at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
