Wilkerson was named the 2011 Honorary Social Worker of the Year by the University of Arkansas School Of Social Work.

The award recognized Wilkerson’s community service and contributions reflecting established social work values and principles.

Dr. Debra Hurd, principal investigator of the statewide Academic Partnership in Public Child Welfare, presented Wilkerson with the award.

As coordinator and principal investigator for the Arkansas Tech component of the Academic Partnership in Public Child Welfare, Wilkerson recently announced the 2011-2012 sub-contract to continue partnership activities has been successfully renewed beginning this month.

The contract was renewed for one year. It is reviewed annually.
