The White House Healthy Campus Challenge is taking place through Jan. 31, 2017, as part of an effort to connect uninsured young adults with access to affordable, quality health care.
As part of the challenge, the Arkansas Tech University Health and Wellness Center will host an information booth in Baswell Techionery from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, and Wednesday, Nov. 30. All uninsured Tech students are encouraged to stop by and learn more about their health insurance options.
Below are important dates and deadlines for the 2017 Health Insurance Marketplace open enrollment period:
- Now through Dec. 15, 2016: enroll, re-enroll or change a 2017 insurance plan through the Health Insurance Marketplace. Coverage can start as soon as Jan. 1, 2017.
- Dec. 15, 2016: Last day to enroll or change plans for coverage to start Jan. 1, 2017. (coverage will begin Jan. 1, 2017)
- Jan. 1, 2017: 2017 coverage starts for those who enroll or change plans by Dec. 15, 2016.
- Jan. 31, 2017: Last day to enroll in or change a 2017 health plan. After this date, enrollment and changes to plans are only available to persons qualifying for a special enrollment period. (coverage will begin March 1, 2017)
