Arkansas Tech University won both ends of a non-conference volleyball doubleheader against Philander Smith College in Little Rock on Saturday.
The Golden Suns (9-4) won the first match of the day 25-7, 25-18, 25-6. Tech’s Kaitlyn White made 10 kills and Sierra Nighswonger notched 31 assists.
Arkansas Tech completed the sweep with a 25-11, 25-4, 25-12 victory in the nightcap. White and Kaci Jackson led the Suns with seven kills apiece. Nighswonger recorded 36 assists. Brittany Ryan and Nighswonger had three blocks each.
Philander Smith fell to 0-10 on the season with the losses.
The Golden Suns will resume Great American Conference action on Tuesday, Sept. 18, when they face traditional volleyball rival Harding University for a 7 p.m. match at Rhodes Field House in Searcy.
