Visiting Author Reading Today

Novelist and short story writer Constance Squires will read a piece of her fiction work to Arkansas Tech students today.

The reading will begin at 7 p.m. in Witherspoon 126 and is open to any Tech student.

Squires’ debut novel, Along the Watchtower, is scheduled to release in July from Riverhead Books, an imprint of Penguin Publishing.

Her short fiction has appeared in a variety of places, including The Atlantic Monthly, Identity Theory, Eclectica, The Dublin Quarterly, The New Delta Review, The Gingko Tree Review, Bayou, and The Briar Cliff Review.

She has won numerous awards such as the Bob Schacochis Short Story Award, the Matt Clark Fiction Prize, the Briar Cliff Review Short Fiction Award, and has received nominations for Best New American Voices, the Pushcart, the Million Writers Award, and the O.Henry Prize.

Squires lives with her husband and daughter in Edmond, Oklahoma where she directs the MFA program in creative writing at the University of Central Oklahoma.
