Vidovic Performs at Tech Tuesday Night

Ana Vidovic will make her second consecutive appearance as the featured performer in the Arkansas Tech University Classical Guitar Series on Tuesday, Feb. 17. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. in the Doc Bryan Student Services Center Lecture Hall at 1605 Coliseum Drive. Admission will be free and open to the public. This is the fourth year for the Arkansas Tech Classical Guitar Series. Previous performers have included Peter Fletcher in 2012, Gohar Vardanyan in 2013 and Vidovic in 2014. A native of Karlovac, Croatia, Vidovic has performed internationally since the age of 11. At 13, she became the youngest student to attend the National Musical Academy in Zagreb, Croatia. She later graduated from the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md. Vidovic has earned first place prizes in classical guitar competitions in England, Italy and Spain. She has given more than 1,000 public performances on a total of four continents since first taking the stage at the age of 7 in 1988. Her performance at Arkansas Tech on Feb. 17 will include selections by composers Fernando Sor, Federico Moreno Torroba, Agustin Barrios Mangore, Isaac Albeniz, Johann Sebastian Bach, Toru Takemitsu, Agustin Barrios Mangore and Antonio Lauro.
