Uno Attending Design Conference

Arkansas Tech student Natsuki Uno is heading to Los Angeles tomorrow to attend the 2010 Special Interest Group on Graphics and Interactive Techniques (SIGGRAPH) annual conference.

Uno was selected from hundreds of applicants to serve as a student volunteer at the conference.

During the conference, tens of thousands of computer and graphics professionals are expected to gather in Los Angeles to attend various conference sessions and networking opportunities.

As a volunteer, Uno will also be able to attend several of the conference sessions and network with industry professionals.

According to the SIGGRAPH website, conference organizers also host several events throughout the conference that are specifically designed to assist the student volunteers.  The volunteers will be able to attend special sessions such as résumé and portfolio reviews, presentations by industry leaders and the chance to participate in mentoring opportunities.

Being selected as a student volunteer for SIGGRAPH is a great honor for Natsuki and for Arkansas Tech,” added Edwin Cuenco, assistant professor of art.  “During the conference, she’ll have access to the latest concepts and technologies in the industry, which will be a great additional educational tool to go along with what she’s learned at Arkansas Tech.”
