Students from Dr. Stephen Jones’ Small Business Management class in the Arkansas Tech University College of Business raised $868.27 for the Dr. Robert R. Edwards Book Scholarship through a recent class project.
Each of the 32 students in the class was provided with $5 in seed money to launch entrepreneurial enterprises to raise money for the scholarship. The students sold cookies, brownies, bottled water, soft drinks, unwanted clothing, monogrammed letters and homemade bracelets. They also walked neigbors’ pets, washed cars, performed lawn care, cleaned houses and charged Bird scooters as part of their philanthropic efforts.
Over the course of the 7-day challenge, students averaged more than $25 per person in sales.
