Golf season will continue into May for one member of the Arkansas Tech men's golf team and one member of the Arkansas Tech women's golf team.

Sophomore Jack Garrett of Fouke has earned an invitation to compete as an individual in the NCAA Division II Midwest/South Central Regional at Jefferson City Country Club in Jefferson City, Mo., May 7-9.

Freshman Rebecka Surtevall of Stockholm, Sweden, will become the first Arkansas Tech women's golfer to compete in NCAA postseason play when she takes part in the NCAA Division II West Regional May 6-8 at Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Ariz.

Garrett (photographed, left) and Surtevall (photographed, right) swept the Great American Conference men's and women's player of the year honors for the 2011-12 season.

They were also first team All-GAC selections during the league's inaugural year.

Garrett has a scoring average of 73.3 over 20 competitive rounds this season.

He won the individual title at the Mulerider Invitational and has six top-10 finishes in 2011-12. Garrett finished second in the GAC Championships.

Surtevall is on pace to record the lowest single-season scoring average in Arkansas Tech women's golf history (77.8).

She won the GAC individual championship with rounds of 80-77-75 for a 232 total during the GAC Championships April 15-17 at Hot Springs Country Club. She also won individual titles this season at the University of Arkansas at Monticello Fall Classic and the Texoma Chevy Dealers Lion Invitational.
