Turner Hall to See Upgrades this Summer

Arkansas Tech University will invest $250,000 to renovate one of its residence halls this summer.

Turner Residence Hall is being outfitted with a new roof, new carpeting and lights in the hallways and upgrades to its lobby area.

Additionally, each of the rooms in Turner Hall is being updated.  Crews are removing the built in furniture and will add new desks and wardrobes to each room.  Organizers say the upgrade will allow students to have additional space and greater flexibility in arranging the layout of each room.

This marks the second major update to Turner Hall in recent years.  In 2007, the facility’s bathrooms were remodeled to enhance student comfort.

The Office of Residential Life performs renovations on its residence halls each summer to make the halls better for Arkansas Tech students, and officials expect to have the renovations completed when students return to campus this fall.

In all, more than 2,500 Arkansas Tech students call the 14 various residence halls home throughout the academic year.  Learn more about the Office of Residential Life.
