Arkansas Tech head softball coach Gidget Pambianchi announced on Thursday, Aug. 18, that Randall Trout will serve as her assistant coach beginning this fall.

Trout (photographed) joins an Arkansas Tech softball program that won three Gulf South Conference West Division championships in the last four seasons. Tech will be in its first year of Great American Conference membership in 2011-12.

A 2001 graduate of Southern Indiana University, Trout has spent the last three summers as head coach of the American Freedom 18-and-Under Gold fastpitch club team based in Allen, Texas. He also has three years of head softball coaching experience at the high school level.

Trout succeeds Ray Loeser, who resigned after four years as assistant softball coach at Arkansas Tech to become the head softball coach at the University of Charleston (W.Va.).
