Training to Take Place for Student Organization Faculty/Staff Advisors

New this year, Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) faculty and staff advisors must attend a training session.

Aubrey Holt, Coordinator of Student Life said that the training is to ensure that advisors are aware of all the updates that have been made. Also so they will know how to complete requirements for their organizations to remain in good standing.

One of the requirements is participation on theLink. It is a new system that student services launched this past April to keep organizations connect to each other and for the university to be aware of what organizations are doing.

The training is also to review resources that are available to advisors and RSOs. The training sessions will take place August 30 at 5:30 p.m. in Doc Bryan 242 and September 5 at 2 p.m. in Doc Bryan Lecture Hall.

All faculty/ staff advisors are required to attend one of the sessions for the RSO to register for the fall. Failure to do this will mean the RSO having inactive status with inability to reserve rooms, apply for funding etc.

Holt said that any secondary advisors are welcome to attend the training as well.
