Top Two Finish in Kentucky for ATU Anglers

Matt Baker and Kory England are on their way to the 2021 Carhartt Bassmaster College Series National Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops.

Arkansas Tech University Fishing Club members Matt Baker of Glenwood and Kory England of Hope finished second in the 2021 Carhartt Bassmaster College Series at Lake Cumberland presented by Bass Pro Shops on Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1.

Baker and England came to the scales with 10 bass weighing a total of 29 pounds, two ounces during the two days of competition. Only Liberty University’s Jack Dice (32 pounds, eight ounces) had a larger haul among the 203 teams that entered the competition.

Two additional teams representing the Arkansas Tech Fishing Club fished the waters of Lake Cumberland.

ATU’s Cole Lamb and Tristan Weaver (21st, nine fish, 22 pounds, 12 ounces) as well as ATU’s Jade Craft and Parker McMahan (83rd, five fish, 14 pounds, 1 ounce) also competed in Kentucky.

As a result of their finishes, the Baker/England and Lamb/Weaver teams both qualified to fish in the 2021 Carhartt Bassmaster College Series National Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops, which will be contested later this year.
