Consistent play vaulted Arkansas Tech University to a second-place finish among a field of 19 teams in the Western New Mexico University Fall Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday.
The Golden Suns posted team scores of 291-291 for a 582 total in the event, which was played at 6,087-yard, par-72 Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz.
Peerada Piddon (T-5th, 71-73-144), Jacqueline Klemm (T-8th, 73-72-145), Sydney Staton (T-8th, 72-73-145), Pia Nunbhakdi (T-23rd, 75-75-150) and Bhenyapa Buranasiri (T-40th, 80-73-153) made contributions to the Suns’ team score.
Tech’s Allie Weiner (T-5th, 73-71-144 ) and Mackenzie Douglas (T-16th, 76-71-147) competed as individuals.
The Golden Suns’ next tournament will be the University of Central Oklahoma RCB Classic in Edmond, Okla., Oct. 1-2.
