Time-Out for Tech Set for February

Thousands of high school seniors will converge on Tucker Coliseum on Thursday, February 4, for Time-Out for Tech.

The annual academic preview day is hosted by the Office of Admissions, and it’s the largest preview event on the Arkansas Tech campus.

Time-Out for Tech allows seniors and their parents to experience several components of college life.  Those attending are able to learn about the more than 100 programs of study available at Arkansas Tech, and attendees will have the opportunity to learn about specific academic programs by visiting with Tech professors.

During the event, attendees will also have the chance to tour the Arkansas Tech University campus.  Officials say there will also be a campus housing tour, which will feature residence halls that are housing options for future students.

Several optional sessions are planned for students, which include information about campus housing, financial aid and campus involvement.

“Time-Out for Tech is a great opportunity for high school seniors and their parents to see first-hand all that Arkansas Tech has to offer.  I would encourage any high school senior that is considering Arkansas Tech to attend Time-Out for Tech,” says Shauna Donnell, assistant vice president of enrollment management at Arkansas Tech.

Those attending the event will be entered to win a two-semester tuition scholarship to attend Arkansas Tech, and every senior in attendance will also receive a free t-shirt.

This year’s t-shirt design and color were selected during a contest last fall.  High school seniors had the chance to vote on the winning design.  See this year’s winning design.

The deadline to register to participate in this year’s Time-Out for Tech is Thursday, January 28, at 5.p.m.  Register to attend Time-Out for Tech.
