Family Day at Arkansas Tech dates back to 1924. Originally known as Dad’s Day, the event has evolved over the years to become an annual opportunity for families to visit their students on campus and see how they are adjusting to life at college.

The Arkansas Tech Office of Student Services coordinates a number of Family Day activities to welcome parents and other family members of Tech students.

A live concert has become an annual tradition in recent years, and 2011 was no different. This year’s Family Day musical act was Satisfaction, a Rolling Stones tribute band that has performed more than 1,500 shows around the world over the past 10 years.

Satisfaction was approved by the Rolling Stones in 2010 to perform a long-term engagement on an annual basis at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. Satisfaction was also the first Rolling Stones tribute show to perform on the Las Vegas Strip.

Other Party at the Plaza events included inflatable games for kids of all ages, tailgating, face painting by members of the Tech spirit squads and a free photo booth sponsored by the Arkansas Tech Alumni Association.
