Tennis Suns Improve to 4-0 in GAC

Arkansas Tech University collected a 9-0 win over Ouachita Baptist University in Great American Conference women’s tennis action at Arkadelphia on Wednesday.

The Golden Suns (12-5 overall, 4-0 GAC) ran their winning streak to seven consecutive matches and maintained sole possession of first place in the GAC women’s tennis standings.

Arkansas Tech set the tone early by only dropping two games in their three doubles victories.

Six straight sets wins in singles play made it a short stay in Arkadelphia and an easy win for the Golden Suns.

Ouachita Baptist fell to 2-11 overall and 0-2 in the GAC.

Head coach Abby Davis and the Arkansas Tech tennis team will continue to pursue the GAC regular season title when the Golden Suns entertain the East Central University Lady Tigers for a 3 p.m. match at the Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex on Friday, April 6.

Admission will be free and open to the public.
