Tech to Issue Retroactive Pay Increases

Arkansas Tech University President Dr. Robert C. Brown announced on Monday, Dec. 6, that retroactive pay increases for faculty and non-classified employees, as well as classified employees, will be issued on Dec. 23. In addition to regular December payroll checks, eligible employees will receive a second check including the additional earnings they would have received from July 1, 2010, through December 31, 2010, under the budget approved by the Arkansas Tech Board of Trustees in May 2010.

Classified employees will receive a 2.3 percent pay increase. The balance of these pay increases will be reflected in monthly payroll checks from January 2011 through June 2011.

All cost of living pay increases for State of Arkansas employees were frozen in June 2010. Gov. Mike Beebe announced on Thursday, Dec. 2, that he was reinstating the cost of living adjustments based upon economic indicators from the first five months of the fiscal year. “We offer our appreciation to Gov. Beebe for his diligent and fiscally responsible management of this matter over the past six months,” said Brown. “Also, we owe a special thanks to our on-campus colleagues in the Offices of Human Resources, Budget, Payroll and Academic Affairs for their hard work to ensure that the retroactive pay increases are implemented in a timely manner.” Arkansas Tech employees are asked to contact their supervisors with any questions regarding the retroactive pay increases.
