Arkansas Tech clinched its fourth consecutive berth in the Gulf South Conference Women’s Tennis Tournament by sweeping three league matches over the weekend.
The Golden Suns (10-6 overall, 3-2 GSC) defeated Ouachita Baptist 9-0 on Saturday, Henderson State 9-0 on Sunday and Christian Brothers 9-0 on Sunday.
The three wins mean that Arkansas Tech will be part of the field for the GSC Tournament in Montgomery, Ala., beginning on Saturday, April 16.
Tech will face North Alabama in the first round at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
The Golden Suns had never reached the GSC Tennis Tournament before head coach Abby Davis led them there for the first time in 2008.
Tech has qualified for the league’s postseason event every year since.
