Tech Team Wins at Leadership Challenge

Five Arkansas Tech University students won the team collaboration award at the sixth annual Washburn University Leadership Challenge Event in Topeka, Kan., on March 31 and April 1.

Erica Goss of Mena, Terrell Shephard of White Hall, Matthew Smith of Hermitage, Bailey Taylor of Rogers and KJ Thompson of Russellville brought the award home to Arkansas Tech. They were led on the trip by Aubrey Holt, director of campus life at Arkansas Tech.

According to the Wasburn University Leadership Challenge Event website, the competition “encourages leadership development by offering participants education, hands-on experience and recognition in a competitive environment” while honoring “intellectual achievement and practical experience in leadership while building camaraderie and networks between competitors.”
