Five Arkansas Tech students will be in Hot Springs later this week to take part in the annual Arkansas Rehabilitation Association conference. The annual training conference is slated to begin on Wednesday and will run through Friday.
The following students will be participating in the conference:
- Violet Jordan
- Amanda Moore
- Beverly Treat
- Shannon Murders
- Brandy Kilpatrick
Dr. Penny Willmering, associate professor of rehabilitation science, is taking the students to the conference, and she says the students will have the opportunity to sit in on several sessions and will be able to network with professionals throughout the state.
While in the Spa City, the students will also be volunteering as session moderators for several sessions during the conference.
Additionally, two of the students will be presenting posters in a poster competition that is part of the conference.
Willmering says attending the conference provides students with valuable insight into their chosen career field.
