Arkansas Tech University students have been recognized for their efforts in raising funds for the American Heart Association.
The students enrolled in PE4513, and organization and administration class, worked to produce a Hoops for Heart event on the Arkansas Tech campus this past spring.
Last year’s event featured a variety of basketball competitions including a 3-on-3 basketball contest, a dunk contest, a hot shot contest and a 3-point contest.
The students raised the most money in the state during their Hoops for Heart event, and nationally, they were in the top 100.
Cindra Roberson taught the class and will be recognized at the Arkansas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Convention next month.
Organizers say they plan to organize a Hoops for Heart event this spring as well.]]>
