Tech Students Attend Emergency Managers Conference

More than a dozen Arkansas Tech University students, faculty and staff are in Las Vegas this week to attend the International Association of Emergency Managers conference.

According to their website, the IAEM conference “provides a forum for current trends and topics, information about the latest tools and technology in emergency management and homeland security, and advances IAEM-USA committee work.”

The keynote speaker at this year’s conference is Federal Emergency Management Association Administrator W. Craig Fugate.

During the six-day conference students are able to attend multiple breakout sessions each day to learn more about their chosen career.

Additionally, there will be several networking opportunities for the Arkansas Tech students to connect with industry professionals.
