Arkansas Tech student Violet Jordan was named the 2010 recipient of the R. Lewis Urton Scholarship last week at the Arkansas Rehabilitation Association meeting in Hot Springs.
The $1500 scholarship is awarded annually by the Arkansas Rehabilitation Association to a student majoring in Rehabilitation Science at Arkansas Tech.
Jordan received the scholarship during a banquet at the conference where she was recognized for her dedication to the field of rehabilitation science.
Jordan, a senior at Arkansas Tech, was one of five students to attend the conference last week in the Spa City.
While at the conference, the students had the opportunity to attend several sessions, and they also volunteered to serve as moderators during some of the presentations.
