Arkansas Tech University student Amanda Condon is one of three individuals who have been selected to receive a $1,000 working parent scholarship from Job-Applications.com.

Condon, 29, lives in Texarkana and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in emergency management from Arkansas Tech. She has three children between the ages of 4 and 12.

Applicants for the scholarship were required to submit a 600-to-1,000 word essay on how they successfully balance parenthood, working and excelling in school.

"Thank you for helping me reach my dreams of completing college," wrote Condon. "I believe each one of us can teach the other a new strategy in balancing college, careers and parenthood."
